Art
‘At New lodge we believe in the power of Art to enhance peoples’ lives. We have our very own Artist in Residence, photographer Alastair Morrison -
7 years ago as I passed the magnificent building, named New Lodge, taking my children to school, I noticed that there was some renovation being done
My thoughts immediately went to the Victorian Age when grand houses used to hang huge family paintings and I wondered whether the wall space at New Lodge would be filled with works of Art.
I met with Paul Buckley and I introduced the idea of hanging my collection of photographs, filling the walls with portraits of faces, famous and unknown.
We have since held many exhibitions at the Muse Gallery, as we chose to call it, with support from Lady Thatcher, Sarah, Duchess of York, Kate Middleton and many other famous faces. We have had opening parties with over 250 people on the guest list.
The photography hangs constantly and those that work in the building comment on how inspiring it is for them to see it all around them. We welcome others to come and visit by appointment.
Our next exhibition will tie in with the Royal Ascot Racecourse meeting in June from the 19th to the 23rd and my photographs depicting Ascot’s 300th Anniversary will be on show.
Alistair Morrison.
